Creator discovery tools: Modash and GRIN list prices side by side for UK buyers
Creator discovery tools Modash and GRIN publish plan prices in US dollars. See both price ladders, how each bills, and the UK data and ad checks to run first.
What to take away
- Two creator discovery tools publish full plan pricesModash and GRIN. Both list them in US dollars, so a UK buyer still needs a pound quote.
- Modash prices by plan tier and usage caps. GRIN prices by monthly credits.
- Annual billing changes the Modash figure. The GRIN ladder is monthly.
- A tool is only shortlisted once its data source, lawful basis and ad labelling have been checked.
- A buyer-owned manual register remains the control route.
Two tools with public price ladders
Modash and GRIN both put their plan prices on their own pricing pages. That makes them the easiest creator discovery tools to compare line by line. Tools that hide prices behind a sales call stay off this list until a dated quote exists.
| Tool | Plan | List price (US dollars) | What the page ties to it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Modash | Essentials | $299 a month, or $199 on annual billing | 100 tracked creators |
| Modash | Performance | $599 a month, or $499 on annual billing | 250 tracked creators |
| Modash | Enterprise | From $14,700 a year | Custom limits |
| GRIN | Free | $0 a month | 50 credits |
| GRIN | Starter | $200 a month | 2,000 monthly credits |
| GRIN | Growth | $500 a month | 7,500 monthly credits |
| GRIN | Scale | $1,000 a month | 20,000 monthly credits |
The two tools meter different things: Modash caps profiles, emails and tracked creators, while GRIN meters credits.
How Modash prices a plan
Modash sets a price per tier and caps usage inside it. Annual billing saves $100 a month on Essentials and Performance, and a 14-day free trial needs no card.
The trial limits show what a tier controls: 20 opened profiles, 6 unlocked creator emails and 10 tracked creators. Paid tiers lift each cap. Check which cap you will hit first before you compare monthly prices.
Illustrative arithmetic: twelve months of Essentials on monthly billing is 12 x $299 = $3,588. On annual billing it is 12 x $199 = $2,388. The gap is $1,200, but only if you can commit for the year.
How GRIN prices a plan
GRIN sells monthly credit bundles rather than seats. The bundled rate is the plan price divided by the monthly credits. That gives $0.100 a credit on Starter, $0.067 on Growth and $0.050 on Scale.
Heavier work spends more credits: negotiating, gifting and reporting cost more than sending outreach. A team that runs few creators with high-touch work can use a bundle faster than a team with a larger roster and light contact.
Checks before either tool is shortlisted
Price is the last check, not the first. Three checks decide whether a candidate belongs on a shortlist:
- Confirm the contracting entity, the exact plan and the currency. A pound quote with the VAT treatment written down is the only figure to budget against.
- Map each creator field to its source and refresh date. UK GDPR requires a documented lawful basis to be fixed before personal data is used, and creator contact details are personal data.
- Run one common synthetic test on every candidate, using duplicate, stale and corrected records, and check that provenance survives export.

A supplier that cannot answer the second check fails before price is discussed. Our vendor due diligence checklist lists the document requests to send, and the contract questions cover data and exit terms.
Advertising rules that follow the tool into a campaign
A discovery tool finds creators, but the campaign that follows is advertising. Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, a practice is a misleading omission if it fails to identify its commercial intent, unless the context already makes that apparent.
So a paid or gifted creator post has to be recognisable as marketing. Build that into the brief, not the tool setup. The UK compliance guide covers the data and advertising checks side by side.
The manual register as a baseline
A buyer-owned table is the control route while no tool has passed all three checks. It records source, permission, verified status, timestamp and the authorised next action for each creator.
Manual register fields
- Source
- Permission
- Definition
- Claimed-versus-verified label
- Timestamp
- Correction status
- Authorised next action
The register is bounded, so it cannot stand for the whole market. Use it to test a tool: if the tool cannot beat the table on provenance, it has not earned its fee. A costed England workflow shows how to price the register against a paid tool.
Common questions
Which tool is cheaper?
It depends on the job. Modash starts at $199 a month on annual billing and GRIN Starter is $200 a month, but they meter different things: profiles and tracked creators against credits. Compare on one workflow, not on the headline figure.
Do these prices include UK VAT?
The pages quoted show dollar figures. Ask for a pound quote that states the VAT treatment, the unit and the period before approving spend. Our guide to monthly quotes shows how to compare them.
What if we want to leave later?
Ask for the export format and deletion evidence first. A guide to switching platforms covers exports and contract exits.
