Part of Creator discovery platforms reviews: all 14 routes on HOLD

How we review a creator discovery service: a desk dossier run on Favikon and Afluencer, with HOLD verdicts

A dated desk review of Favikon and Afluencer on the same dossier fields: plans, prices, capacity and the data and entity gates that still block a pass.

What to take away

  • The review runs in three stagesa desk dossier, a synthetic test on authorised access, then a verdict.
  • Two services went through the desk stage from their own pricing pages: Favikon and Afluencer.
  • Both get HOLD. A pricing page cannot prove data accuracy, creator consent or legal entity.
  • Favikon lists Core at $199 a month and Pro at $299 a month. Afluencer lists a $49 Marketplace plan, a $649 Standard plan and a $1,049 Pro plan.
  • Prices are in US dollars and are first-party statements, not independent evidence.

Stage one: the desk dossier

The review methodology for creator discovery platforms starts with a dossier. It lists what a supplier says about itself, with the page, plan and retrieval date (7 October 2026 here). Every item is first-party evidence: it shows what is offered, not how the service behaves.

Each service gets the same fields: plan name, listed price, monthly capacity, seats, and the features that matter for a buyer job. The next step compares the fields side by side.

Favikon

Favikon lists a Core plan at $199 a month with a capacity of 500 credits per month, 3000 contacts, 1 active campaign and 100 tracked creators. Its Pro plan is listed at $299 a month with 1000 credits per month, 5,000 contacts, 5 active campaigns and 300 tracked creators. An Enterprise plan has tailored capacity, and the page lists wire transfer and SEPA payment among enterprise services.

Afluencer

Afluencer lists three brand plans. The Marketplace plan costs $49 a month and includes 60 invitation credits a month. The Standard plan costs $649 a month and includes 1,000 reach outs a month. The Pro plan costs $1,049 a month, includes 5,000 reach outs a month, a dedicated account manager and 3+ seats.

The page also carries a notice that Afluencer becomes part of another business. That is a change event, so the entity check below matters.

Illustrative cost per unit

As illustrative arithmetic on list prices, if the monthly capacity were fully used: Favikon Core costs $199 / 500 = about $0.40 per credit, and Pro costs $299 / 1000 = about $0.30 per credit.

Afluencer Standard costs $649 / 1,000 = about $0.65 per reach out, and Pro costs $1,049 / 5,000 = about $0.21 per reach out. Credits and reach outs are different units, so the figures do not compare the two services.

The gates the desk stage cannot pass

The review uses ten mandatory gates. A failed gate cannot be offset by price or features.

  1. Legal entity and edition.
  2. Privacy and PECR.
  3. Data roles, subprocessors and transfers.
  4. Source and accuracy of creator data.
  5. Creator contact route and suppression.
  6. Safeguarding.
  7. Rights and permissions.
  8. Advertising claims and disclosure.
  9. Accessibility.
  10. Logs, support and exit.

Entity and accuracy

For the entity gate, a company record can show the registered address, the date of incorporation and current and resigned officers. The check confirms a legal entity and its officers. It does not show quality.

For accuracy, the ICO's accuracy principle is that all reasonable steps must be taken to ensure personal data is not incorrect or misleading as to any matter of fact. Its checklist asks for processes to check the accuracy of data collected and a record of the source. A discovery service shows creator profiles, so the buyer asks where each field comes from.

Verdicts

ServiceDesk dossierSynthetic testVerdict
FavikonPlans, price and capacity recordedNot run: no authorised accessHOLD
AfluencerPlans, price and capacity recorded; entity notice flaggedNot run: no authorised accessHOLD

HOLD means the route stays open but unproven. RECHECK applies when a claim changes or evidence expires. The Afluencer entity notice is one such trigger.

Next stage

The synthetic stage needs authorised access to a fixed configuration. Use the quality checklist for single records and the vendor due diligence checklist for the entity gates.

Compare with the reviews and comparison record and check pricing models before any quote. The workflow to audit creator discovery platforms follows, and the UK compliance guide covers the legal gates.

Common questions

Why do both services get HOLD?
No buyer-controlled test has run, and a pricing page is first-party evidence only.
Are the prices in pounds?
No. Both pages list prices in US dollars.
What would change a verdict?
A completed synthetic case pack with every mandatory gate marked, or a change in a supplier claim.
